I saved this for day 5 of a 6-day backpack trip. It was a super scrumptious treat and tased like fresh slaw with carrots, cabbage, ginger & peanuts. It was a tad pricy, but worth it at that stage of a back country trip.I bought these for my first camping trip ever and all I can say is wow! Flavor was great and the portions were perfect! I made the salads the night before and kept them in a cooler and would take them with me for lunch.Very tasty and easy to make. A great compliment to my normal freeze dried meals made with boiling water. The peanut slaw really hits the spot. Will be packing this on all future trips.I thought the flavor of this product was great!! But honestly it was more of a peanut salad than slaw. I wish it had more cabbage or peppers and a bit fewer peanuts. Overall very tasty and something I will buy and keep for camping or a quick lunch.I used this meal on a backpacking trip. I might have added too much water when preparing, but I didn't think it had much flavor. The ingredients were good it just needs something to add more taste.I didn't realize these were vegan when I bought them, was just looking for veggie-heavy backpacking food. I was not disappointed. These are delicious, nutritious, and have FIBER. For, you know... staying regular. If they can maintain the high quality of freshness and flavours, they have a customer for life with me ???I have tried several mainstream brands of dehydrated backpacking food, as well as some specialty brands. This one is by far the highest quality I have ever tried. If you are looking for bland food, and love your mountain house or pasta side meals, this may not be for you. This tastes like real food. I am not kidding that you could rehydrate these and serve them as a regular meal to your guests and no one would notice. So far I have tried the lentil walnut pilaf with kale, and the coconut rice and Cuban black bean. Both were by far the tastiest dehydrated meals I have ever tried.I bought these thinking that I would be adding some chicken, or tuna to them to get a few more calories, and get my meat fix. But after trying them would not dare do this. I wish I could give Food for the Sole more than 5 stars! The only drawback, is that these meals will ruin you to other backpacking food.
