From the time my toy poodle was a pup he has been timid and suffers from separation anxiety whenever he is left home alone, which doesn’t happen on a daily basis, but usually happens at least once a week. Given his timidity I wasn’t sure if this treat toy would work with his personality, so fingers crossed I took the plunge and invested in trying to find something that will help him deal with being left at home along every now and then. The first night he showed a lot of interest in it, but just barely pushed it with his nose, and only did that to see if there were any hidden treats beneath it. I showed him that the treats would come out of the toy when I pushed it, but then he kept looking at me wanting me to push it for him. The next night I took his paw and had him push it hard enough to dispense a few kibbles. He wasn’t too happy with me, because he thought I was being mean to him I think, but he immediately forgave me and started eating the kibble. I know he’s a very intelligent dog and hope with patience, time and his own curiosity he will get over being timid around the toy and start entertaining himself with it when we leave to shop or whatever.we have two young pups who have been getting into trouble out of boredom.. this has helped a bunch already, and it's only been a few days! they love playing with this.. we have been filling it with kibble and a few small treats, so they never know what is going to come out of it.. and it has kept them busy for hours. only down side is that one of them has figured out how to move the little slider on the side that controls the gap for the treats to come out.. so we will be needing to find something a bit larger then what we have been using.. but that is doable :)This toy is one of the best interactive toys my dog has had. I bought the blue bottomed one first which she loved, but had to watch her as she chewed the blue top off. The seller listened to my frustration with the toy and offered a new version of it. Our dog can't easily chew on it like the blue one and has to push it around to get her treats as it's designed. I still watch her the whole time as we've just had it a couple days and she's smart... She really gets exercise with this one. I have a 25# dog and this was the right size for a decent snack or part of her meal in it so she has to work for it. Picture on the box shows bigger than ours ...it's about the size of a large grapefruit. I was impressed with the Seller to offer refund or replace with new model to make a happy customer!Slightly smaller than expected. Dogs don't quite understand how to use it yet but I push it around and treats fall out the dogs have to wait for it to wobble away. We have two, one for each dog. Dogs didn't want to share, our girl picked it up and took it into her dog house. I would recommend this to anyone with a pet that could knock it around enough for a treat to fall out. We use it with scientific diet dog food and Cheerios. Fun to watch them try to use it.I like this product. It works as it should. I use it for my dogs evening meal. Great for dogs who inhale their food. Better than a slow feeder bowl. The treats don’t come out too fast, and she gets a little activity. The only con point for me is it doesn’t hold a full cup of kibble. I have to put the remainder in when she finishes the first half.It took awhile for me to find how to lock the cap on the base. Still they learn to open the unit. Started again to learn to lock the unit. Success I hope. I’m put a single black line to mark the aOur large dog chewed the point off the top in the first 10 minutes. Otherwise a good toy for him to kick around and get treats out of it.
